After seeing some gorgeous animal masks online I was inspired to make my own. Some steps are pictured below, the full tutorial is available for free on Instructables via the link above.

Also, a bonus picture of the prototype. It's much heavier than the second one, and is made primarily of plaster strips (hence the weight). The jaw motion isn't as fluid either, but that's what prototypes are for.
